Sass's Sunday Salvation Show

Hello everyone.  I had me quite a come-uppance this last week.  I have to confess, as a fairly new blogger, that I look around a bit at other blogs, love this, hate that, imitate the other thing, post original stuff, post my variation of somebody else's stuff, write about my life, and generally, just do what I do.  I have been on the receiving end of a few comments that go something like: "Hi!  Love this project!  Come link up to my linky party!"  And, perhaps foolishly, I was flattered - Oh!  Someone likes my stuff enough to want me to link to their party.

Well, as it turns out, those kinds of invites are less about my project and more about building someone else's blog.  And, I've been guilty of doing a similar thing, although, in my defense, I take time to read the post and try to make a personalized comment.  And I want to build this blog.  I want to stick around a long time, and make a little dent in the world with Sassafras.  I love you, my readers, and I don't want to do anything to offend you.  (Of course, that's not saying that it won't happen - just that I don't want it to happen.)  I want to connect with you, and I hope you consider me a friend.  Someday, I hope to go to some of the blogging conventions I've read about and meet some of the people who've meant something to me as I go down this path.

In any case, regarding this linky party:  I enjoy it.  I really do.  I love to see all the beautiful things that you do, and I'm honored when you come to link up.  Very, very grateful.  But I won't chase you down anymore.  If you'd like to come, I'm delighted to have you.  Delighted!! But now that I know that it's a breach of blog etiquette to add a comment/invite, I won't be doing that.  I'll still be out there commenting, though.  I, personally, love it when someone leaves a nice comment, and I know other bloggers do, too.  So, while the Sunday Salvation Show will go on for the foreseeable future, we'll leave it up to you, the reader and linker-upper to see if it survives.

Today is Easter, the resurrection celebration of King Jesus.  It's a very special day.  Many folks love Christmas the best, and others place more emphasis on Easter.  Here's what I know:  without Christmas, what is the point of Easter?  Without Easter, what is the point of Christmas?  One is the promise; the other is the fulfillment.  God is good and made a way.  I am blessed to be a child of the King.  Today is a precious day.  If you haven't investigated the love of Jesus, I encourage you to do so.  He's everything.

Let's get on with my favorite link from last week.  It's a crazily inventive bunch of Cracked Egg Cupcakes from North Dakota Kitchen.  When I first saw the little thumbnail that linked this post, I thought, "Cracked Eggs?  What the heck?"  Then I clicked on it, and I was so tickled to see such creativity.  Shannon really knocked it out of the ballpark with this one.  And she provides the instructions, so you can do the same.  Go on over there and check her out.  She seems a bit surprised by all the attention, but her work on this one is worth it!

  1. I don't mind that you chased me down! It's a very you scratch my back, I scratch yours world with these link parties. Without people like you to host them, I wouldn't be able to "show off" my projects and hope to gain a few readers. I also love to find new blogs via link parties. I appreciate that you asked me to come over and you are on my list for every Sunday.
    So-thanks for hosting this again!
I have a 3 Minute Fudge recipe that is rather tasty and easy to make (only 3 minutes!). Hope you enjoy-have a great day!
